Caron Brookens is a former journalist with more than 15 years of experience in television news and media relations. Caron most recently served as press secretary for Mayor Rahm Emanuel’s re-election campaign and brings with her a deep understanding of strategic communications in the Chicago media market.
Previously, Caron worked as a media relations and communications consultant, specializing in media training, media strategy and public affairs. Before consulting, she reported breaking news at television stations across the country including; New Orleans, Charlotte, Tampa and Houston.
A native Chicagoan, Caron received her bachelor’s degree in communications from Loyola University Chicago, a master’s degree from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University, and most recently completed a digital marketing certificate at the University of Chicago. When she’s off the clock, Caron enjoys traveling to relaxing vacation spots, going to concerts and being the designated tour guide when friends visit her hometown.
