Tom Lupa

Account Manager

Looking to hone his skills as a communicator and gain exposure to a wide client range, Tom had already been a big fan of Hawthorne before he took the opportunity to jump aboard the PR firm in May of 2018. He was attracted to Hawthorne for its reputation of successful tactical public affairs campaigns, its broad capabilities suite, and the opportunity for invaluable mentorship from its senior leadership team. A sharp staff and dedication to employee development create a unique team culture that allows the firm to thrive.
After cutting his teeth as an intern at Kivvit Public Relations, Tom has gone on to work for a span of clients ranging from nonprofit communications at The Juvenile Protective Association, running communications for local Chicago political campaigns, and strategic email marketing, SEO and list management at AllInbox. Bringing with him several years of media relations, email marketing, digital and grassroots campaign strategy, Tom looks to apply these skills to Hawthorne’s stable of clients.
A graduate from DePaul University in 2013, Tom has a B.A. in Public Relations and Advertising and a minor in Political science with an emphasis in American Political Theory.
Out of the office Tom finds time to keep his heart rate up by playing soccer, rock climbing, and practicing Jiu Jitsu, while also remaining active in local grassroots politics.
