With a penchant for strategic storytelling, Joel has traversed the marketing and communications space, exposing himself to a versatile set of companies. From small businesses to non-profits to tech startups, he has built upon his experiences in content creation, marketing strategy, and project management.

Always interested in applying his transferrable skills into new contexts, Joel found his way to Hawthorne, working closely with a wide range of clients, such as the Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority (MPEA) and Chicago Dental Society, to support their PR and communications initiatives.

Prior to his start at Hawthorne, Joel worked in marketing and strategic initiatives departments at United Airlines, supporting a multi-million-dollar email marketing campaign for small business travel. Additionally, his career highlights include selling out campus concerts as a Marketing and Media Analyst for A&O Productions, increasing social media followings for multiple businesses by 10-15%, and creating 300+ marketing deliverables for a tech startup.

In his free time, you can find Joel taking pictures on a 2008 digital camera, thrifting, playing guitar, or exploring the food scenes in various Chicago neighborhoods (and tracking it all on Beli).

 

Education: Northwestern University, BA in Economics
